Biotechnology Laboratory of  CCMRS-IPB continued to grow since its inception in seafood product development programs and environmental management, especially in coastal areas and oceans. Various studies, researches and implementation activities have been undertaken to contribute their role of biotechnology in sustainable utilization of marine resources and to protect coastal and marine environment with the handling of pollution in coastal areas.

Activities that have been conducted are bioremediation of oil-contaminated soil that pollute coastal and marine areas, and development of marine natural products.

Currently, facilities owned by the Biotechnology Laboratory of CCMRS-IPB is breeding microbes and analysis equipment, such as Petri dishes, erlenmeyer, measuring cups of various sizes, gourds, and others.
